Privacy Policy for ThisHaircut
1. Scope and Who We Are
LifeVen LLC, a Washington limited liability company ("LifeVen," "we," "us," or "our"), operates ThisHaircut. This Policy explains how ThisHaircut accesses and stores information on your device, how it can send content you choose to an AI service to generate a brief, and how LifeVen handles information you separately send to us, such as support email or store-provided diagnostics.
2. Local App Data
ThisHaircut stores your data locally on your device.
Your saved hairstyle looks, notes, and briefs are saved in app-managed storage on your device. ThisHaircut does not require a LifeVen account, and LifeVen does not operate a backend server for this app. LifeVen cannot remotely view or retrieve those local records through ThisHaircut.
3. Permissions ThisHaircut Requests
ThisHaircut requests the following device permissions, each for a specific, limited purpose:
- Camera: "Take a hairstyle photo to keep in your private Saved Looks."
- Photos (select) and Photos-Add (save): "Choose hairstyle photos to keep in your private Saved Looks." and "Save a hairstyle photo to your private Saved Looks."
- Microphone: ThisHaircut declares this permission, but does not record or process audio. As the app's own permission description states, "Camera access is used for result photos; ThisHaircut does not record audio." This permission exists only as a side effect of the camera component the app uses, not because ThisHaircut captures or processes any sound.
4. Important: AI-Generated Briefs
ThisHaircut can turn a selected look, plus your own notes, into a written brief you can show your stylist. When you use this feature, the image(s) and text you select are sent to a third-party AI service to generate that brief.
Content sent to that AI service is used only to generate your brief and is processed under that provider's own data-handling practices, not LifeVen's. Nothing is sent unless and until you explicitly use the brief-generation feature.
5. Analytics, Diagnostics, and App Stores
ThisHaircut does not include third-party advertising or developer-operated behavioral analytics SDKs. Apple or Google may process app-store, installation, purchase, crash, performance, or diagnostic information under their own policies and may provide LifeVen with aggregated or diagnostic reports depending on your device and store settings. We use reports we receive to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app.
6. Information You Send to Support
If you contact support, we receive the email address, message, attachments, device or app details, and other information you choose to send. Do not send private saved looks, sensitive personal information, or original media unless we request the minimum information needed to investigate an issue. We use support information to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, keep records of the request, and comply with law.
7. Disclosure and Sale of Information
LifeVen does not sell or share ThisHaircut app records for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information we actually possess to service providers that support email, hosting, security, or diagnostics; when required by law, legal process, or a valid government request; to protect rights, safety, and security; or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets. Service providers may use information only for the services they provide to us. As described in Section 4, content you choose to submit for AI brief generation is disclosed to that AI service solely to provide that feature.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to information we control. Local records are protected primarily by your device, operating system, passcode, account, and backup settings. No device, storage system, transmission, or security measure is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee against loss or unauthorized access.
9. Retention and Deletion
You maintain control over your local records. Deleting a saved look, note, or brief removes it from the app's local storage. Uninstalling ThisHaircut removes its local app data from the device, subject to any standard device backup retained by Apple, Google, or your platform account. Because LifeVen does not store these records on its servers, there is no corresponding LifeVen account data to delete.
We retain support correspondence and store-provided diagnostics only as reasonably necessary for support, security, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, and legal compliance, then delete or de-identify them according to operational needs and applicable law.
10. Children
ThisHaircut is not directed to children under 13, and LifeVen does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app. If you believe a child has sent personal information to LifeVen support, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
11. Privacy Rights and International Use
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information LifeVen actually holds, including access, correction, deletion, or objection. These rights do not give LifeVen access to records that remain only on your device or content processed by a third-party AI service. Send a request to support@lifeven.com; we may verify the request and retain information when permitted or required by law. Information sent to LifeVen may be processed in the United States.
12. Changes to This Policy
If ThisHaircut later adds optional features that change how data is handled — such as cloud backup or sync, accounts, sharing or export features, purchases, or analytics — we will update this Privacy Policy and the app-store privacy information before those features are released. Changes are reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
